For their Dominating Chicago meetin, Jewel Osco gave our team an interesting challenge: capture the personality and history of the city of Chicago in a minute and a half.

Drawing from the city’s rich heritage in art, music, and architecture, we crafted a stylish mixed-media video that blended archival footage, illustrations, contemporary shots, timelapse, and voiceover from an actual Jewel Osco employee. This ambitious project pushed our team to its creative and technical limits, but ultimately led to an impressive final product that truly captured the essence of Chicago.

To accommodate the venue’s ultrawide screen setup, 21:9 footage was shot in 16k using our RED Komodos for street level shots, and our DJI Avata for drone footage. It was graded to black and white in post, with the red being isolated to match Jewel Osco’s branding.
